P: None.
D: And your doctor's never mentioned anything like a heart murmur or
something like that?
P: No, he hasn't.
D: Did you ever have rheumatic or scarlet fever as a child ?
P: No, not that I know of.
D: I see here in your previous history that you've never been short
of breath on exertion, never had swelling of the ankles, nor had to get
up during the night to pass your water. Is that all correct?
P: Yes.
D: Do you sleep on one or two pillows?
P: One, all my life.
D: Have you noticed any of these symptoms recently?
P: No, I haven't.
D: Have you ever had any chest pain before?
P: No, this is the first time.
D: Is there any history of heart problems in your family?
P: Yes, my father died of a heart attack and so did my uncle.
D: You said you felt light-headed and weak, is that right?
P: Yes, it is.
D: Then you didn't actually experience unconsciousness?
P: That's correct.
D: All right, the last thing left is a physical examination, and then we'll
begin to try to help you.
